Chengdu panda reserve centers are located in Dujiangyan. Our panda volunteer programs offer our guests a full-day experience of taking care of the giant pandas.
As a volunteer, you will get to work from 9 am to 4:30 pm. You will be given brief training by the professional who cares for these loving animals. Volunteers will clean, prepare their lunch, and feed the pandas. The helper will show you how they clean the Panda's homes, and you will again get to feed the pandas up close and personal. After the day ends, all volunteers will receive certificates!
Founded in 2014, there are about 20 pandas living and breeding here. There are 2 panda bases we will travel to the closest one from Chengdu which is approx. 1 and half hours away from Chengdu.
Due to safety reasons only volunteers between the ages of 12 and 65 can participate.
If you have younger siblings under the age of 12 they can tour the panda centers with their guardian and watch as they feed the pandas. Then you all join together to have a gourmet lunch.
You can fly directly to Chengdu or major international airports or fly from within China from Beijing a, Shanghai etc. If you have a tour to Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors, you can take a bullet train to Chengdu for only 4 hours. Many customers extend their trip to Chengdu from other tours we provide.

Panda Volunteer Work Schedule
7:00 am
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Chengdu and head for Dujiangyan Panda Park.
8:30 am
Arrive at Dujiangyan Panda Park. The staff at the panda center will give you an orientation and a detailed schedule for your day. Our guide will be with you at all times. Feel free to ask him questions, and also, our guide loves to take photos of your family and friends!
9:00 - 11:30 am
This time you become a panda lover! Feed the animals and spend time with them and see how pandas live!
11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Have lunch and take a break. Wonder around the panda park and learn about how the center helps train the pandas back into the wild.
2:30 - 4:00 pm
Work time again. Well we wouldn’t consider it work but a wonderful experience. After we will make our way back to Chengdu.
5:00 pm
Arrive at your hotel in Chengdu. Or, we will drop you off at the airport or train station.
