Established in 1569,this building was oringinally constructed with bricks and wood .These materials were later replaced by bricks and stones .The Heigu Tower has two floors .In 1986,the bedroom at the top was renovaated has it that the building was struck by lightning and caught fire .A girlnamed Heigu,who was taking part in the construction of thethe GreatWall with her father,lost her life in the fightingagainst fire .There,according to legend,hte building was named Heiguin her honor.
