2HC2: Sunset and Sunrise beside the Lakeside Wall

This two-day outing gives you time to appreciate Huanghuacheng’s combination of mountain ridges, water and historic fortifications. Rather than joining several long hikes, 2HC2 focuses on a shorter lakeside visit, an evening outdoors and the changing morning light.

Families and mixed-age groups can discuss a measured pace, but lakeside paths and Wall sections may still involve steps or uneven ground. We choose the approach and exit around your party and current access.

Confirm the permitted sleeping location, equipment, meals and facilities in your proposal. Airport or alternative drop-off is a separate arrangement that must fit your flight and the actual return schedule.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel for the approximately 2.5-hour drive to Huanghuacheng, also known as Huanghua Great Wall.

The fantastic countryside of Huanghuacheng Great Wall is covered in a yellow mass of wildflowers in the summer, Also known as the ‘Yellow Flower Town’ of the Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall has no stone steps or a single smooth walkway, and it provides quite a challenge for its visitors. Another significant feature is the Lake that gives it that extra unique feel to your visit when hiking this beautiful section.
 

Around 6 p.m., we will have dinner at a local farmer’s house at the base of the Great Wall. This will be a delicious local Chinese cuisine served just for you. We will then climb back on the Great Wall and set up camp for the night in one of the Great Walls towers! All camping equipment will be provided, so all you have to do is have a comfortable sleep

  An early wakeup call at about 5:30 is (depending on winter or summer) to take in the beautiful sunrise over the Great Wall. After having a continental breakfast, you will return to Beijing at about 9 a.m.
