The two eastern days allow different perspectives on the same defensive landscape: weathered approaches, closely spaced towers and the contrast between restored and original masonry. A road transfer brings you to Huanghuacheng for the final day. The first stages involve substantial walking, while the lakeside outing introduces another type of terrain. Daily distance and overnight comfort are matched to the group before the route is confirmed.
Walk the selected Gubeikou–Jinshanling route in the direction shown in the day’s plan. Original masonry, tower forms and changes in terrain provide the interest. Permitted off-Wall paths may connect the sections, and the actual distance follows access, weather and the group’s pace.
Explore Jinshanling’s ridges and the permitted eastern route described in the program as West Simatai or the Second Valley. Look for changing tower forms and defensive details. Do not confuse this walk with automatic access to the separately managed Simatai attraction; the agreed entrance and exit govern the day.
Change perspective among the reservoirs, hills and village approaches around Huanghuacheng and Xishuiyu. Follow the confirmed visitor route rather than assuming every waterside stretch is accessible. Steps and uneven sections remain part of the outing; the guide can shorten the walk to suit the day.
