Four days give the Jinshanling–Gubeikou area and the Huairou mountains their own time. This 4D route begins with the eastern ridges, then reserves two days for the Jiankou landscape and a Mutianyu finish. It is the option for walkers who want depth around Jiankou rather than adding Huanghuacheng to the same short trip.
The route separates Jinshanling–West Simatai and Gubeikou–Jinshanling into different walking days. Transfers connect the regions; this is not a continuous end-to-end walk. An overnight outdoors is part of the proposed experience, with the actual campsite and indoor alternatives confirmed before booking. The Jiankou portion must be reviewed against current restoration and access restrictions, and can require a different authorized walk or a road transfer to Mutianyu.
Explore Jinshanling’s ridges and the permitted eastern route described in the program as West Simatai or the Second Valley. Look for changing tower forms and defensive details. Do not confuse this walk with automatic access to the separately managed Simatai attraction; the agreed entrance and exit govern the day.
Walk the selected Gubeikou–Jinshanling route in the direction shown in the day’s plan. Original masonry, tower forms and changes in terrain provide the interest. Permitted off-Wall paths may connect the sections, and the actual distance follows access, weather and the group’s pace.
Explore the Jiankou-area landscape only on a route whose access has been confirmed. Restoration boundaries and local restrictions determine the permitted walk or viewpoint. If suitable entry cannot be arranged, substitute an agreed open section rather than treating a barrier as part of the adventure.
Review the permitted access before choosing the day’s route. The historical Jiankou–Mutianyu through-hike is not assumed available. Use an agreed authorized walk and, where necessary, a road transfer to visit Mutianyu separately. Optional cableway or descent activities follow the confirmed ticket and operating arrangements.

These are linked walking days with road transfers between regions, not a continuous trek along every surviving wall. Share your recent hiking experience, normal daily distance and comfort with steep descents. We agree the overnight sequence, luggage handling and the balance of inns and any confirmed camping before booking.
Jiankou includes restoration areas and restricted stretches. Neither this outline nor guide accompaniment guarantees entry or an open connection to Mutianyu. We confirm the permitted route for your date and explain any replacement walk or road transfer before booking. Closed sections are not bypassed.
4D devotes more of the route to the Jiankou area. The 4B itinerary uses a single Jiankou–Mutianyu stage and adds Huanghuacheng’s lakeside landscape. Choose by the places you want to explore, not just the shared four-day duration.
