TOUR 1AA: Gubeikou to Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Tour

At about 8:30 am, our driver will meet you at the hotel. After 2.5 hours on the road, we will reach the Gubeikou section of the Great Wall and begin our hike. Unlike the Badaling and Juyongguan sections that  have to survive the onslaught of tourists every year, Gubeikou and Jinshanling offer you the enormous freedom to walk and see without crowds. 

The entire Gubeikou Great Wall has not been repaired in modern times. The broken walls and bullet holes make people feel like they were in the war-torn era. In the light of the setting sun, people burst into tears. The Gubeikou Great Wall is winding and ups and downs, with dense and diverse enemy buildings. It is a long windy wall which is very steep. This view is terrific and you will get to take it all in for about 10km. 

The Jinshanling Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has parts of its wall restored about a quarter. The rest is all unrestored, which gives you a more personal experience of The Great wall bringing you back in time. In the distance, the Great Wall is winding, with peaks and greens, climbing between the long gray brick walls, exploring the quiet time, and enjoying the ancient charm.

You will then experience a Chinese style cuisine dinner from a local farmer’s restaurant.  After which you will be dropped back to your hotel in Beijing.
