With this tour, you get to spend one night on the Great Wall itself. During the day, you get to experience the wild sections of the Great Wall. You will begin your hike at Gubeikou, which is very much so tourist-free part of the Great Wall that is unrestored. After a few hours of hiking, we'll cross over into Jinshanling, which features stunning scenery. As night time falls to take in the sunset and get ready for a night, you will never forget, camping on the Great Wall! As you slowly watch the sunrise over the Great Wall, we will resume our hiking onto Jinshanling until we reach the Second Valley, which is the west wing of Simatai.
Great Wall Adventure Club is the only authorized business that is approved by the Great Wall Administration Office to offer camping on the Great Wall to all our customers. We are not like any other Tour guide company. We are unique because 100% of our focus is on the customer. To camp on the Great Wall legally, we pay a fee to the Great Wall Administration Office that allows us access to places no other companies have the authority to do so. Great Wall Adventure Club is not only the perfect guide for your Great Wall hike and camping experience but the only one.
The Gubeikou sections are unique and possess many characteristics and beautiful landscapes. You will then make your way into Jinshanling, which was listed as one of the world's cultural heritage sites in 1987. It is one of the most popular sections for tourists who love adventure and learn about the Great Walls history. It is said that the Jinshanling Great Wall is the most beautiful and best-preserved stretch of the Great Wall. You'll spend one night in a tent set up in a watchtower called The General's Tower. We will then make our way to Jiankou. These two sections of the Great Wall are mostly unrestored, and it is quite an experience to see untouched parts of the Great Wall. The last hike you will end in Mutianyu.
We did a two day hike along the Wall with Great Wall Adventures. We also camped the night in a tent in one of the watchtowers along the wall. Along with the hike to Macchu Pichu, it was one of the most impressive experiences we've ever had. The Wall exceeds expectations and words won't do it justice. Truly amazing.
Great Wall Adventures did a great job organizing. They picked us up on time, in a modern comfortable car. We drove far enough that we got to hike a part of the wall that wasn't crowded. At times we had all we could see to ourselves.
We were fed large good meals at local restaurants and enjoyed them very much. We carried our own snacks, but barely used them, the meals were so good.
The mats under the sleeping bags made sleeping much more comfortable than we expected and being there to get up and watch sunrise from the wall would have been worth putting up with much more. An experience of a life time!

At about 9:30 am, our driver will meet you at the hotel. After 2.5 on the road, we will reach the Gubeikou section of the Great Wall and begin our two-day hike.
Gubeikou is unique in its way as it varies in size and design. It is a long windy wall which is very steep. This view is terrific and you will get to take it all in for about 10km. The Jinshanling Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has parts of its wall restored about a quarter. The rest is all unrestored, which gives you a more personal experience of The Great wall bringing you back in time. We will see the sunset while hiking on the wall.
You will then experience a Chinese style cuisine dinner that lives locally. After some delicious food, we will sleep overnight in a watchtower on the Great Wall. All camping equipment will be provided and taken care of, so no need to worry or stress. You can then bring in your surroundings while having a comfortable sleep.

Watch the beautiful sunrise in the early morning while having breakfast. We will resume our hike on Jinshanling's right-wing, where we will hike until we reach Simatai West called the Second Valley. The Wall gradually deteriorates along this section, making it quite challenging, but this is what makes this hike so unique as you get to experience the untouched Great Wall dating back hundreds of years.
The Jinshanling Great Wall possesses an excellent opportunity to take in some fabulous views. Make sure to take your camera. You will not be disappointed! This part of the Great Wall has not been repaired since 1570. It is very remote, but it's what makes it so unique and a great chance to experience the nature and the wild parts of the Wall.
The Simatai West section called the Second Valley. It is also unrestored and is ruins. This part of the Wall is known as the real Great Wall as it hasn't been touched or refurbished, this brings you back in time to when it was first built! You will also get to see how the Wall was designed for practical purposes, such as the defense against enemies and how the Great Wall was supposed to keep them out. There are 'obstacle-walls' built perpendicular to the parapets - a feature unique to the Second Valley part of Jinshanling Great Wall.
After your adventure we will return you to your hotel by 5pm that afternoon. You can reminisce in your experience.
