Our 7-day packages are for the true Great Wall admirer. They give you the most in-depth knowledge and a greater understanding of The Great Wall. If you consider yourself a physically active person, you will love this hike. You will be a part of the local culture and try local cuisine.
For these seven days, you will explore the less visited areas of the Great Wall. You will be away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The real ancient ruins of the wall will be in your footsteps! Completely unrestored, it lays there as it was a thousand years before, it is quite a sight.
For each hike option you have, you will get the chance to explore the most ancient ruins, breathtaking scenery, watchtowers, and the most inspiring brickwork you have set your eyes on. We begin our hike at the Old Dragon Head, the eastern-most point of the Great Wall, where the wall touches the Yellow Sea.
We take you west through Shanhaiguan and Jiaoshan, on the way we stop in some local villages to sample them and take in their culture.
The next day we will hike to Sandaoguan, a section of the Great Wall that possesses both unrestored and re-built portions of the wall.
Then comes the challenging part, a hike from Dongjiakou to Xiaohekou. It is a rare rough area to climb but an excellent experience to view the Great Wall as it was in its history.
The following day we will take a brief rest from the Great Wall to visit the East Qing Tombs, burial tombs where the final leaders were laid to rest.
We will then resume our tour by hiking the Huangyaguan section. Then we end your adventure by going on one of the most popular hikes. Starting from the western end of Simatai, we will pass through to Jinshanling before finishing in Gubeikou, an area famous for the battle against the Japanese in the 1930s. A paradise for photographer’s which offers a tough challenge to hikers.
Kicking off your adventure by hiking the unrestored section of Badaling, which is often missed by Chinese/foreign tourists? This section is a challenge to walk but a fantastic experience. Afterward, we cross over into Shixiaguan, a preserved piece of the wall in a mountainous setting.

We will then drive to Huangyaguan, a section located in a beautiful valley.

A non-stop on the go tour that requires 5-7 hours of hiking per day. This is not a hike made for amateurs. Hikers who are serious about hiking the Great Wall and who are determined to overcome steep terrain. We will begin at Badaling the unrestored section.
Then we will move into Shixiaguan, set among the mountains. This wall is still remarkably intact and stable. The scene then shifts to Hunaghuacheng, where we will trek until we reach Xishuiyu, here you will get to see where the wall becomes submerged underwater!
Today The Great Wall at Jiankou retains its original appearance since its construction in 1368. It is known for its 'wildness' otherwise untouched, unrestored, and has all its history on display for you to see! One of the most notable features is its zigzags for 9.3 miles. We will take things easy when we cross over into Mutianyu, as it is a primarily restored section where the hiking is not so challenging.
The following day we take off from Gubeikou, a place that held battles of the war against the Japanese in the 1930s.

"I just returned from a fabulous 7-day trek on the Great Wall of China organized by Great Wall Adventure Club. I was so pleased with my experience, the care and compassion of our our tour guide and driver, and the responsive support offered via email, texts, and phone calls from their offices in both China and the United States. Our tour guide, Oliver, accessed every resource to accommodate our needs plus - added some exciting history lessons along the way. How special the entire hiking adventure was and I hope to have another opportunity with GWAC, again!"
