We begin our journey with a 4-hour drive to Old Dragon's Head and onto Shanhaiguan Pass. We will visit the Shanhaiguan Great Wall Museum, where you will hear about the history and military strategy of this section of the wall, as well as displaying military relics. After a wonderful dinner, we will tour the Old Town of Shanhaiguan, which will give you a chance to learn about the culture and the locals' life.

Day 2: Jiaoshan – Sandaoguan - Dongjiakou

Jiaoshan Peak is known as “the first mountain of the Great Wall.” Jiaoshan ancient wall will bring you back in time. Jiaoshan is the highest peak of Guancheng North Mountain Barrier, with an elevation of 519 meters. Jiaoshan is the first mountain peak of the Great Wall of China to cross northward from the old dragon head. The further you hike the wall, the more it becomes deteriorated. We will drive to Dongjiakou Great Wall and sleep overnight there.

Day 3: Dongjiakou-Chengzhiyu-Xiaohekou

Today, we will hike to view a ruined fortress that can only be seen in this part of the Wall. You will then get a chance to spend some time mixing with the locals who are the descendants of the builders and guards of the Great Wall. We will have lunch at Dongjiakou. We will make our way to Xiaohekou, which takes about 5 hours. On this route, we will pass Chengziyu village. At the end of the trek, we will drive from Xiaohekou to the nearby Qingfeng hostel.

Day 4: Baiyangyu Marble Wall
Day 3: Dongjiakou-Chengzhiyu-Xiaohekou

The highlight of today’s hike is witnessing the very rare east section of the Baiyangyu wall, made of marble that has a length of 1.5kms it is truly a sight to behold and one that is only seen at this section of the Great Wall itself.
We will then return to Beijing this afternoon.
